Rev. Burt Williams

Burt Williams was raised on a farm in Tennessee near the Mississippi River.  The son of a prison guard and a social worker he discerned his call to ministry at 16. He attained his Bachelor of Arts at Lambuth University where he founded the Christian life house and was the president of the pre-ministerial society, there were actually other members.

After college Burt was the Minister to Youth and Children at Aldersgate UMC in Augusta, Georgia where he met and married Sharon.

Burt Studied for ministry at Duke Divinity School and has served churches in North Carolina for 17 years. He has founded the Methodist Hispanic Ministry in Greensboro and a food pantry involving 10 churches which serves over 300 family’s a month in Rural Davidson County.   And he supervised “Opportunity House” a ministry to the homeless and those on the margins that provided daily support to those living in tent cities in Kannapolis and Concord.

He is still settling in to life in Morganton, but says he is already falling in love with the people and the area. His passion in ministry is to see those who are lost find a living relationship with Christ and his people.
